Chalcosiini
Tribe Details
This tribe contains the bulk of the subfamily: Clades 3-18 of Yen et al. (2005). It is not clearly defined by their analysis. The basal segment of the labial palp is reniform in all except the Arbudas complex, but is also of this shape in Corma of the Cyclosiini. The ostium bursae tends to be sclerotised rather than membranous.
Most of the 16 clades recognised by Yen et al. (2005) have representatives in Borneo, but the situation is confused by dispersion of the taxa of the traditional concept of Pidoras Walker amongst many of them, as has happened also to a lesser extent with Trypanophora Kollar and Phlebohecta Hampson. However, where possible, commentary on the characteristics of each clade will be made under the first component genus to be treated, with reference to those genera treated subsequently that also belong to the clade concerned.
