Eumorphiopais Hering

Genus Details

Type species: quadriplaga Hering, Borneo.

See Arbudas Moore. The species of this genus are somewhat larger with more elongate forewings. The pattern consists of black, brown and iridescent blue with dull orange patches. The male genitalia have a more elaborately and extensively bilobed uncus. The saccular zone of the valve is much deeper with the processes more strongly hooked. In the female, the signum is a central, rather trilobed scobinate patch, with a fainter accessory patch in E. leis Swinhoe (N.E. Himalaya).

The genus contains three species, the third being E. iris Tarmann from Sumatra. Early stages are unknown.
