This tribe, as with the Agalopini, has a different composition in the analyses of Yen et al. (2005) to that proposed by Alberti (1954). The former analyses recapture the type genus of the tribe in a sister-relationship to a clade that includes Corma, Eucormopsis Jordan and Heterusinula Bryk, all with Bornean species, and two genera endemic to the Philippines. The Corma subclade also includes typical Anarbudas Jordan (see p. 75 with reference to Bornean species previously included and now transferred to Boradiopsis Hering).

No unique features define the tribal clade. Cross-veins between the costa and Sc of the forewing are seen in Cyclosia and in Eucormopsis of the Corma subclade, but also occur in members of Clade 18 in the Chalcosiini such as Pompelon Walker. The male genitalia have variations on a theme of paired projections near the base of the tegumen. The pleural pouch of the abdomen tends to be elongate.

It is notable that both the Cyclosiini and Chalcosiini include genera with marked sexual dimorphism, with the female form frequently being mimetic, resembling various butterflies or, in the case of Psaphis Walker, day-flying geometrid moths. However, males in genera in both tribes can exhibit a groundplan of blackish forewings with diffusely paler maculation, particularly in the distal half, and hindwings with a dull bluish iridescence, exemplified particularly in the two tribes by the resemblance of the male of Cyclosia macularia Guérin-Méneville to that of Psaphis camadeva Doubleday.

The Corma subclade is not very clearly defined, sharing a feature with Clade 1 (see p. 40), and also a few with more distal clades. One potentially diagnostic feature is a semicircular distal modification of the sacculus in the male genitalia. The Cyclosia Hübner subclade is represented only by its type genus.
