Eublemma quadripunctata Warren
*Smicroloba quadripunctata *Warren, 1913, Gross-Schmett. Erde 11: 215.
Diagnosis
The facies is very similar to that of E. quadripunctata and E. latistriga but is a much darker rufous brown, with the forewing distal margin more strongly angled centrally. The medial fasciae consist of darker (redder) and paler components that are of equal emphasis (in other species the more distal paler component is weaker). The postmedials are distinctly punctate, black, but sometimes a more entire, fine zigzag, and the submarginals are broken into chevrons. The male and female genitalia are very similar to those of latistriga, the male with an acutely triangular setose process to the valve.
Taxonomic note
The species was retained in Smicroloba by Poole (1989).
Geographical range
N.E. Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Bali, Borneo, Sulawesi, New Guinea.
Habitat preference
The species has been taken infrequently in lowland forest and more rarely up to 1790m and in secondary forest. Chey (1994) recorded several individuals in softwood plantations in the lowlands of Sabah.
