Diagnosis

The species has wings shaped similarly to those of Niaccaba, with a strong angle to the forewing margin and a straight hindwing margin which is distinctly darkened. However, it is much larger and more robust than Niaccaba. The ground colour is greyish, the wings with series of diffuse and very irregular reddish fasciae. There is a submarginal very close to the margin on all wings that consists of a series of small, fine, black streaks. See also E. rubricilia.

Taxonomic note

Poole (1989) retained truncatalis in Silda Walker, of which it is the type species.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

The species has not been taken in recent surveys; the holotype is from Sarawak but without precise data.
