Eublemma ignefusa Hampson
Eublemma ignefusa Hampson, 1910, * Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus*., 10: 181.
Diagnosis
This is a more delicate species than typical Eublemma, with unusually triangular forewings. The wings are warm pinkish grey with a tracery of pale lines. Within this are green patches, a central one on the hindwing and two on the forewing, the more distal one elongate and oblique as illustrated, the obliqueness in reverse to the typical direction in Eublemma.
Taxonomic note
Though the wing pattern is unusual, the features of the male genitalia are consistent with placement in Eublemma, but are somewhat simplified, showing some similarity with the Zitna group of Corgatha (see p. 126).
Geographical range
Singapore, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra (HS / ZSM), Borneo.
Habitat preference
Both Bornean specimens seen were taken in an area of forest with some disturbance at Poring on the eastern slopes of G. Kinabalu at about 600m.
