Eublemma ellipsifera Holloway sp. n.

♂♂ 6mm, ♀♀ 6-9mm. The facies is of the same type as martini, but the rosy grey shading and the green markings are very faint, that of the hindwing large, elliptical to almost circular and only narrowly edged with white. The green band of the forewing is closer to the margin than in martini and expands in width towards the costa. The forewing apex contains a conspicuous black patch, with a smaller dot set obliquely basad immediately posterior to it. The forewing may also have a faint, fine, transverse medial line. The male genitalia are similar to those of martini, but both valve processes are short. The female genitalia are typical of Eublemma.

Geographical range

Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow colln).

Habitat preference

All specimens are from lowland forest. Peninsular Malaysian records are as for plagirosea.
