Eublemma rubricilia Hampson
Eublemma rubricilia Hampson, 1902, J. Bombay nat. Hist. Soc., 14: 207.
Diagnosis
The species resembles truncatalis Hampson (see above) in having a shape approximately as in Niaccaba (p. 80) and a general medium grey colour. The fasciation is much more obscure, and the marginal areas are irregularly marked with fine dark reddish suffusion. However, the actual margins between this and the fringes are defined finely by a pale line in most specimens. There is a dark discal mark on the forewing.
Taxonomic note
Poole (1989) assigned the species to Silda.
Geographical range
Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow colln), Singapore, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Chey (1994) recorded eight specimens in softwood plantations near Brumas in the lowlands of Sabah, but it is possible that some were the next species. One voucher (in FRC, Sepilok), from a Gmelina plantation, has been confirmed as rubricilia and is illustrated.
