Eublemma indigofera Holloway sp. n.

Image of [object Object] Holloway ♂ (Peninsular Malaysia)
♂ (Peninsular Malaysia)

♂♂,♀♀ 12-15mm. The species is larger (typically 14mm) than versicolor and a more violet-grey colour, rather than reddish. This grey is usually slightly paler immediately exterior to the straight fasciae, but then grades darker again towards the margins, though the fringes and actual margins are not significantly darker than the rest. The new species is diagnostically densely irrorated with indigo-black scales up to the submarginals, and there is a more uniform patch of the same colour in the forewing costa from the apex to and slightly beyond the subcostal angle in the straight fascia. The genitalia of indigofera are almost half as large again as those of versicolor and loxotoma, and the tongue-like saccular process is slightly more elongate.
