Diagnosis
Both sexes are dark brown, but the females are much larger than the males. There is a broad, slightly curved, white submarginal band on the forewing that is broken by brown lines running through it on the veins. This band is broader in the female. The hindwings can have a slight pinkish violet tone. The male genitalia resemble those of the next species
Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
A specimen matching the holotype male was taken in an area of secondary and coastal vegetation at Mumong in Brunei, and there is also a female from Bidi in Sarawak.
Biology.
Robinson et al. (2001) cited larval host plant records from Baccaurea (Euphorbiaceae) and Coffea (Rubiaceae).
