Diagnosis
Both this and the C. pieridoides show similar strong sexual dimorphism, the males being smaller and mimicking pierine butterflies. That of pieroides is creamy-white above, with the veins of the forewing picked out in black. On the underside, the hindwing is extensively yellow. Mimicry is closest to pierid butterflies such as Cepora Billberg species. The strong blue tinge of pieridoides is absent. Females are larger, with the forewings and hindwing margins more extensively blackened, also on the underside, where the hindwing has a red area basally, separated from the yellow by a suffusion of black. The female mimics Delias Hübner species such as D. ninus Wallace.

The species is probably widespread in the lowlands, including roadsides and areas of disturbance.
