Diagnosis
Like midama, this species is a mimic of danaine butterflies and has a dark brown ground colour. The distal part of the forewing has variably developed white spots or streaks in the marginal part of the wings, and these are usually stronger on the hindwing.
Geographical range
Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo; Burma, Cambodia (ssp. sobria), Hainan, N.E. Himalaya.
Habitat preference
Endo & Kishida (1999) recorded this species from Sarawak. It appears to be rare.
