Taxonomic notes

The holotypes of A. linteola Toxopeus and salebrosa Toxopeus have genitalia (Figs 111, 113) that indicate that they are conspecific with each other and also with sinuoharpe Holloway. Therefore salebrosa and sinuoharpe are placed as synonyms of linteola syns. n.

Diagnosis

♂♂ 15-17mm. The facies is similar to that of liguluncus though with grey fringes. The frons is dark reddish, with a pair of round spots ventral to a diffuse inter-antennal bar. The palps are rufous yellow and the legs are spotted. The male genitalia have the uncus more spatulate than in the liguluncus sequence of species, and the valve is elongate with a distinctive, tapering, sinuous harpe that is longer. The valve apex has an oblique, tongue-like flap that bears setae.

The wings are thinly scaled, with a small black discal spot on the forewing. The frons has a brown bar with two spots of this colour ventral to it. The legs are spotted, the palps light red-brown. The genitalia are compared with the Javan A. galanthina Toxopeus comb. n. where the valve is a bilobed oval, the upper lobe bent slightly inward, the harpe flat, pennant-shaped, with a serrate upper edge and terminating in a long, sharp needle that does not protrude beyond the edge of the valve. The upper lobe is large, rounded, turned further inward. The harpe is spiny all over, with its apical needle protruding beyond the edge of the valve.
