Arctornis ardea Holloway sp. n.
♂♂ 14-15mm. The wings are satiny white with a small discal spot on the forewing. The fringes and forewing costa are tinged brown. The frons has a broad rufous-brown bar between the antennal bases and upper part of the eyes. The palps are ochreous, and the legs are spotted with dark brown. The uncus is rounded and the aedeagus has two ‘horns’ as in hipparia, but the valve is completely different. It is deep, rectangular, the distal angles rounded off and invested with long setae, those of the ventral angle more robust. The harpe is very slender, with a slightly bulbous apex grading into a slender spine, the whole resembling the neck and head of a heron.

Geographical range
Borneo, Sumatra (Schintlmeister, MS).
Habitat preference
All material was taken on the transect of G. Mulu in lower montane forest or the upper zone of hill dipterocarp forest.
