Corgatha quadricostaria Walker comb. n.
Hyria? quadricostaria Walker, 1861, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus., 22: 667.
Diagnosis & taxonomic note
The holotype (OUMNH: 1369) is considerably damaged, represented now by not much more than the forewing and thorax. Though listed under Enispa in Poole (1989), the facies is very similar to that of Corgatha Walker species that have reddish brown wings and white markings along the costa, such as minor and pseudominor (see above) except it has only two spots on the costa, basally and centrally, instead of three. In this it resembles more closely C. minuta Bethune-Baker (New Guinea). The male genitalia resemble those of Corgatha species such as albicinctalis Walker where only the saccular process is present on the valves. It is therefore transferred from Enispa to Corgatha.
Geographical range
Borneo.
Habitat preference
The holotype was taken in Sarawak by A.R. Wallace, probably in the lowlands. Two specimens have been taken in recent surveys: from alluvial forest at 50m near the S. Melinau during the Mulu survey, at 100m in primary forest of the Lower Temburong in Brunei.
