Lophoptera purpuriridis Holloway sp. n.
♂♂ 13-14mm. The forewing markings are much as in L. purpuribasis and L. brunnistis, but the wings are more uniform dark brown with a purple iridiscence and somewhat obscure fasciation. The species is best distinguished by the male genitalia where the curvature of the slender aedeagus, the short domed uncus and the massive, sclerotised costal process to the valve are unique within the genus.
