Lophoptera gadirthoides Holloway sp. n.
Diagnosis
♂♂ 20-21mm.
This species differs from the previous three in the medium-pale brown ground colour to the forewing; there is a distinctive, dark brown bottle-shaped mark, neck directed basad, enclosing the reniform; the reniform is pale brown with a slender black lunule centrally; the bottle mark has a slightly less dark shade distad which continues to the margin; the posterior element of the apical mark (no paler than the ground) resembles that of polygrapha in not being bounded basad; the postmedial zig-zags in a pronounced manner over its posterior third, ending in two thin dark lines running basad parallel to the dorsum.
The male genitalia are somewhat as in chalybea, having a slight subapical step to the valve costa; the basal lobe is much more rounded and is completely fused to the valve at its base.
