Diagnosis
The forewings are purplish red-brown with straight, transverse fasciae, diverging slightly towards the dorsum, that divide the wing into thirds.
Each fascia is edged on the basal side by silvery grey that fades away basad.
Taxonomic Notes
The holotype of padangensis matches verticata closely.
The species illustrated as padangensis by Kobes (1997: Plate VIII: 284) is possibly X. trilineata Warren. Geograpical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Only four Bornean specimens have been seen, singletons taken at 1000m in lower montane forest on G. Mulu, and (in USNM) from 20 km (without altitude) east of Telupid in Sabah, and two from lowland dipterocarp forest in the Barito Ulu of Kalimantan.
