Eugoa tineoides Walker
Lyclene tineoides Walker, 1862, J. Linn. Soc. (Zool.), 6: 115.
Diagnosis
This species has medium to dark brown forewings that are slightly variegated longitudinally. There is a small discal dot, and a faintly darker, fine, angled postmedial. The male antennae are ciliate. The head and patagia are a creamy-white colour as in indeclaratana and uniformis, but the male is distinguished by spots of the same colour at the base and centrally at one-third on the forewing; these are obscure in the female. The genitalia have valves with a ventrally falcate cucullus. The aedeagus vesica lacks cornuti.
Habitat Preference
The holotype, a female, was taken by A.R. Wallace in Sarawak, probably in the lowlands. The only other specimen, a male, is from an area of disturbed lowland forest near Labi in Brunei.
