Eugoa alticrassa Holloway sp. n.
♂♂, ♀♀ 8-10mm. Externally this species is very similar to crassa, but usually has a definite antemedial fascia (obscure in crassa). The two can only be separated reliably on genitalic characters. Males of both have the valve costa angled, but this angle is more acute, more distal in alticrassa. In the aedeagus vesica crassahas an elongate comb of spines whereas alticrassa has a much smaller clump. In the female, there are much longer spines projecting posteriorly on each side of the ostium. Only dissected material is included in the type series.
