Image of Eugoa obliquipuncta Holloway ♀

Eugoa obliquipuncta Holloway sp. n.

♂♂, ♀♀ 8-9mm. The facies is similar to that of basipuncta, with the dark antemedials and postmedials both diffusing away paler distally from a sharp edge on their basal side, but both are distinctly oblique. The hindwings are grey. The male antennae are bipectinate rather than serrate or ciliate. The male genitalia have the tegumen shouldered, the uncus angled, and there is a hirsute process from the valve sacculus that is larger than the part of the valve distal to its point of origin. The aedeagus has a subapical cluster of small spines. The female genitalia are similar to those of basipuncta, but the ostium is flanked by a pair of thumb-like processes.
