Diagnosis
This and Scopula planidisca Bastelberger are distinguished by an enlarged black- ringed discal spot on the hindwing.
S. annularia is larger, with a straighter oblique postmedial on the forewing. Black flecks in the forewing submarginal and hindwing postmedial tend to be longitudinal in annularia and transverse in planidisca Bastelberger. The latter has the fascia basal to the hindwing disc more strongly blackened.
Geographical Range
N.E. Himalaya, Hong Kong, Burma, Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Philippines, Sulawesi, Seram.
Habitat Preference
An old specimen is from Tenom in the lowlands and a more recent one is from lowland forest at Danum Valley Field Centre, both in Sabah. The species would appear to be uncommon.
