Taxonomic Notes
This species was recorded from G. Kinabalu by Prout (1932c), but neither this nor any other Bornean specimen has been located. Its presence in Borneo therefore needs confirmation. It is allied to S. muscosa Rothschild and may therefore be better placed in Dystypoptila. Indeed the specimen may prove to be the female of D. triangularis.
Geographical Range
N.E. Himalaya, Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, ?Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The female concerned was taken on the Marei Parei ridge of Kinabalu, at about 1600m.
