Sauris curticornis Warren
Remodes curticornis Warren, 1897, Novit. zool., 4: 231.
Diagnosis
The species is described from a female that resembles that of hirudinata with the fasciae of the forewing more extensively suffused with purplish grey. The original description noted that the antennae were darker than in hirudinata. A possible male is also illustrated. It is worn but resembles that of hirudinata except the hindwings are much paler, only the central lobe of the margin being dark grey. Specimens from Penang and Timor referred to by Warren may represent other taxa, so the concept of curticornis is tentatively restricted to Borneo until more material is available to help resolve the issue.
Geographical Range
Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The holotype is from Kuching, the male from lowland forest at 300m in the Ulu Temburong, Brunei.
