Pomasia lamunin Holloway sp. n.

♂♀ 8mm. The red areas are dark and extensive as in galastis, but the paler fasciae are more prominent, whiter. The male genitalia have the uncus broad, rather than needle-like, and the aedeagus vesica contains a long row of small spines. The saccular lobes are triangular rather than quadrate as in galastis. The female has the ovipositor lobes deep, square. The neck of the bursa is spined along one side, the bulb extensively spined except for a diagonal band where spines are absent.

Holotype ♀

BRUNEI: 60m, Lamunin, Sg Burong water tanks, disturbed lowland forest, 17-30.ix.1992 (G.S. Robinson). BM geometrid slide 18619.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

The three specimens range from the lowlands to the lower montane zone. A male in colln Herbulot that is probably lamunin was taken at Sepilok in the lowlands of Sabah.
