Diagnosis

Both sexes have rounder forewing margins and deeper forewings than congeners. The fasciae are a red on a pale softer yellow. In addition there is a strong sexual dimorphism in forewing shape with that of the male very much deeper with venation strikingly modified. The space between anterior cubital and anal veins is dramatically expanded, with the former concave, somewhat doubled; the cell itself is constricted basally but expanded distally with consequent shortening of the radial and medial system. The venation of the female is less modified, but the anterior cubital system still has more curvature than in other species.
