Diagnosis
See the previous species.
The forewing postmedial is a more clearly defined irregular black line, not a zig-zag as in canioralis. The more basal fasciation is evenly developed, and the postmedial is less stepped.
The wing is usually darker grey basal to the medial, and the antemedial often has a darker patch of raised scales at one-third from the costa.
Opalescence is moderate across the whole wing.
The male genitalia are similar to those of canioralis but with a much narrower harpe and a more acutely pointed saccus.
Geographical range
Borneo, Burma, Java, Philippines, New Guinea**.**
Habitat preference
A male and three females have been noted for Borneo.
The holotype female, collected by A.R. Wallace, is probably from a lowland locality.
A male and female are from about 600m in the foothills of G. Trus Madi and another female is from 1000m in the lower montane zone of G. Mulu.
