Diagnosis
The single Bornean male is worn, but appears to be much paler in fasciation than typical Himalayan erythrostigmata and lacking the dark discal mark on the hindwing, resembling liparisalis more closely.
However, the antennae are fasciculate rather than bipectinate, and the genitalia match those of erythrostigmata, having a longer and more slender harpe than that of liparisalis and a long, slender, rather hooked cornutus in the aedeagus vesica.
The apodemes of the eighth segment differ also from those of liparisalis, being blunt and with a greater difference between tergite and sternite.
Geographical range
N.E. Himalaya, Borneo.
Habitat preference
One single specimen is from lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu.
The Bornean female noted by Hampson (1900) under erythrostigmata is of the next species.
