Maxates tristis Holloway sp. n.

Diagnosis

♂ 14mm.

Not illustrated but similar to melancholica in external appearance.

The male genitalia are diagnostic with the ventral process adpressed to the ventral margin, and distinctive, darkly scaled coremata.

The eighth sternite is unmodified.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

The single specimen is from lowland alluvial forest.
