Diagnosis
The species is similar to M. coelataria, but the margins of both wings are broadly pale creamy yellow, striated rufous, with central greyish bands, that of the hindwing interrupted centrally, with two black flecks just interior to it anterior to the interruption.
The margins are much less excavated.
Geographical range
Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
The species is infrequent, recorded from lowland and hill dipterocarp forest to about 500m.
