Diagnosis
The fasciation of the male forewing is strong and even, the discal chevron conspicuous. The hindwing is diagnostically pinkish with a strong grey border: two specimens from mangrove in Brunei have the pink area of the hindwing more greyish but do not differ in genitalia. The female has similarly strong but more block-like markings on the forewing. The discal mark is a simple chevron: in the next two species it has additional elements distally.
Geographical Range
Sundaland, Lombok.
Habitat Preference
Most records are from lowland forest, including mangrove forest, but one specimen was taken at 1200m on G. Kinabalu.
Biology
The larva has been recorded from Pinus (Pinaceae) in Peninsular Malaysia (unpublished FRIM records).
