Eugnathia rosalba Holloway sp. n.

Image of [object Object] Holloway ♂ (holotype)
♂ (holotype)

♂♂ 10-11mm. This species is clearly distinguished from tamsi on grounds of both facies and the male genitalia. The pale costal zone is crossed by a series of oblique, pale brown bands and, distally, the same brown colour is crossed by the even more strongly oblique arc of the postmedial anterior to its discal angle. The dark apical zone is brown rather than black. The rest of the wings are a more even pinkish brown tone, though still grading paler towards the margin. The male  genitalia have the uncus distinctly robust. The valve process is also robust, straight, digitate, arising more basally than in tamsi and more closely associated with the costa. Females from the Philippines are tentatively associated. The neck of the corpus bursae is extremely long.
