Diagnosis

The wings are extensively suffused red on a bright yellow ground colour. The straight line of the latter on the hindwing and the subapical patch of yellow on the forewing distal to a diffusely darker discal dot are diagnostic.

Geographical range

Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference

The two Bornean specimens seen are from hill dipterocarp forest at 500m on G. Mulu, Sarawak, and secondary forest understorey in the vicinity of the Danum Valley Field Centre, Sabah.
