Cerynea argentescens Hampson
Cerynea argentescens Hampson, 1910, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus., 10: 218.
Diagnosis
The wings are a pale brownish grey with fasciation typical of the genus. The postmedials are faint but finely crenulate and black, with a similarly fine pale component immediately distally. There are more irregularly zigzag and entirely pale submarginals in the middle of the grey zone between the postmedials and the margin. The wings are slightly paler basal to the postmedials except for diffuse, indistinct medials. The discal marks are bipunctate, black, on all wings. The male genitalia are typical of the genus, the valve processes consisting of one club-like one and one needle-like one that is over twice as long, extending well beyond the apex of the cucullus.
