Callizygaena venusta Jordan
Hydrothauma venusta Jordan, 1912, Novit. zool., 19: 146.
Diagnosis
This species has a wingspan and male antennae as in unipuncta but is robust like ada. The ground colour is black. The male forewing has a small white discal spot, a pale turquoise-greenish apical patch and a narrow, straight, transverse antemedial fascia of the same colour. There is a blue subbasal spot. The hindwings have a small central wedge of pale blue. The female is slightly larger than the male, with a more distinctive curved metallic band at the apex of the forewing cell, and a marginal band that extends to the tornus and is associated with a golden patch. The metallic spot of the hindwing is larger in the female, and there is also a bluish marginal zone. There are lateral patches to the abdomen, golden in the male and blue in the female; the ventral surface of the abdomen is yellowish in the male.
