Amata pseudextensa Rothschild
Amata pseudextensa Rothschild, 1910, Novit. Zool. 17: 435.
Syotomis pseudextensa Rothschild; Seitz, 1912-1913: 73.
Diagnosis
This species may be distinguished from other similar montane taxa (the next three) with pale heads and slender bodies by the very extensive transparent areas on both wings, coupled with pale yellow rings on the basal and fifth abdominal segments, black scales on forewing vein CuA2 between the two transparent patches (cf. whitish in the next species) and absence of white fringe scales at the forewing apex.
Geographical Range
Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The species is only known from the holotype female from G. Kinabalu. It has no altitude data. The female referred to by Holloway (1976) was probably that of the next species.
