Amata apicelisa Holloway sp. n.
♂ 14mm, ♀ 16mm. The species resembles A. wallacei paucicincta but is distinguished by white apices to the forewings. The white spots on the wings are larger than in stellaris Snellen; stellaris has narrower, white rings to the abdomen. In the male genitalia the aedeagus vesica has a broad lateral lobe as in wallacei but with the spines somewhat more robust and of more even length. The valves are more tapering than in wallacei or stellaris; the latter has a similar aedeagus vesica but with slender cornuti on the lateral lobe and far fewer spines on the main tube of the vesica.
