Pelagodes spiniseparati Holloway sp. n.
Diagnosis
♂♂ 14-15mm.
When fresh, this species is a slightly paler, bluer green than those discussed above, with the fasciae clearly defined.
The features of the male abdomen set the species apart from preceding ones and indicate it to be closely related to a group of taxa that includes P. viridicaput Warren stat. rev. & comb. n. (Sulawesi, ?Sri Lanka (slide 8676)), P. rubellifrons Warren comb. n. (New Guinea) and P. subviridis Warren comb. n. (Christmas I., Indian Ocean). These share the paddle-shaped valves with a spined dorsal edge to the paddle; prominent scobinate horns to the juxta; a robust and slender pair of spinous processes near the centre of the margin of the eighth sternite.
In spiniseparati the pairs of spines are well separated, the left members and the right members of each being associated.
In all the other taxa all four are closer together, the slender ones set together closely, sometimes fused, flanked by the robust pairs.

Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference
All three specimens taken during the Mulu survey were from lower montane forest at 1000m.
