Metaemene mediopunctata Holloway sp. n.

Image of [object Object] Holloway ♀ (holotype)
♀ (holotype)

♀♀ 10mm. The slight angle to the distal margin and the distribution of rufous grey patches of the forewing is somewhat as in hampsoni Wileman (Taiwan), but the hindwings are more contrastingly grey than in hampsoni, and the forewings are less reddish and more extensively variegated and streaked with greyish white. Both species have a strong discal spot on the forewing, circumnavigated by a postmedial that is pale, containing black dots, but this is more uniangular in mediopunctata and the postmedial is more continuously punctate. There is also an incomplete antemedial that is not seen in hampsoni. The genitalia have the pouches flanking the ostium more globular than in hampsoni, and the neck of the corpus bursae has a somewhat cross-shaped sclerite rather than a cluster of three unequal spines recurved distad from an elongate basal sclerite.
