Diagnosis

This species has the marginal white dots of the forewing seen in the previous few species, but it has several diagnostic features: three irregularly transverse white lines in the basal third of the wing; a white triangle medially on the dorsum; a white-edged darker triangle subapically on the costa; the veins are often picked out darker in the distal half of the wing.

Geographical range

Burma, N.E. Himalaya, Borneo, New Guinea, Bismarcks, Solomons.

Habitat preference

Specimens have been taken in the lowlands, e.g. at Tenom in Sabah, but those from recent surveys are from higher altitudes: one from 600m on G. Trus Madi; three from 1618m on Bukit Retak; one from 1790m on G. Mulu.
