Barsine crustata Talbot comb. n.
Asura crustata Talbot, 1926, Sarawak Mus. J., 3 (2): 136.
Diagnosis
This is a small, sexually dimorphic red species with blackish fringes. The male has an elongate fold with androconia in the forewing cell. The female could be confused with the next species but is a duller red with a much more sinuous and basal postmedial. The male genitalia indicate placement in Barsine, with a cluster of short, stout, asymmetric spines in the vesica and possession of a very small central saccular spine as well as a slender central costal one. The valve apex tapers to a point, lacking associated costal or saccular processes. In Sulawesi there flies a related species, B. nigrocincta Snellen comb. n .; its genitalia were illustrated by Roepke (1946b).
Geographical Range
Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra.
