agalopini
Tribe Details
This tribe is recaptured by Clade 1 in the analysis of Yen et al. (2005: fig 57), but is not entirely coincident with the concept of Alberti (1954) as it includes his Aglaopini (Aglaope), and has exchanged Corma Walker for Cadphises Moore and Hampsonia Swinhoe from his Cyclosiini. The clade is supported by over 20 apomorphies in the cladistic analysis, but only one is unique: the rows of scales on the wings do not overlap each other. This feature gives the wings a translucent appearance.
Other features that may be at least partly diagnostic are a helmet-like structure to the basal segment of the labial palps and, in the male genitalia, an upcurved hairy spur at the apex of the sacculus (not universally present), and extension of the arms of the vinculum beyond its junction with the tegumen on each side (seen also in the Corma subclade of Clade 2).
