Lophoruza vacillatrix Hampson
Lophoruza vacillatrix Hampson, 1910, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus., 10: 231.
Diagnosis
See the generic description, L. dasycara, and that of Ataboruza unipuncta Warren. The bulge to the distal part of the forewing costal band is diagnostic, and contains two strong submarginal dark marks.
Taxonomic note
Two of the three Bornean specimens noted below, all females, were dissected (slides 20738, 21139; Fig 202) and were found to have a neck section of the corpus bursae half the length of that of females from Sri Lanka (slide 21053; Fig 203) and Bali (slide 21038), but their ductus bursae was slightly longer. Males are needed to classify the status of this Bornean population. The male genitalia illustrated are of a specimen from Sri Lanka. Similar variation in the neck of the corpus bursae was noted on p. 103 for Z. vacillans.
Geographical range
Indian Subregion, Java, Bali; Borneo.
Habitat preference
The two specimens taken in recent surveys are from hill dipterocarp forest at 500m and stunted hill forest at 900m. A third was taken from 85 miles above (upstream from?) Pontianak in Kalimantan.
