Taxonomic note

This is not, as suggested by Schintlmeister (1994), merely a pale form of chloroptera, for the reasons stated in the diagnosis and taxonomic note for vaneeckei.

Geographical range

Borneo, Sumatra.

Habitat preference

This is a lower montane species, recorded at 1000m on G. Mulu and at 1050m and 1200m on G. Kinabalu.
