Ilema altichalana Holloway sp. n.

Dasychira chalana Moore sensu Holloway, 1976: 51.

♂♂ 18mm. This is a larger species than costiplaga but with similar brownish green facies. The genitalia are also of the two-pronged type, but the saccular process is narrower at the base, distally longer and more sinuous. The apex of the valve is deeper, slightly more upturned.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

All records are between 1500m and 1930m on G. Kinabalu. The two other specimens noted in Holloway (1976) have been mislaid.
