Diagnosis

This is a small species with dark grey wings that are traversed by green bands medially; that of the forewing is bounded distally by an oblique postmedial, extending at the dorsum to the antemedial but narrowing anteriorly. The forewing discal mark is prominent, resembling that of the next species.

Geographical Range

Borneo, Sumatra.

Habitat Preference

The species is common in lowland and lower montane forests.

Biology

The species has been reared by Mr Chey Vun Khen and staff at the Forest Research Centre, Sepilok. The early instars are slender, greenish yellow, with blackish longitudinal and oblique stripes along the body. The seta are on prominent chalazae. There is a striking pair of digitate processes subdorsally on A3 and more adpressed, irregular projections on A4. The host-plant was Paraserianthes falcataria (Leguminosae).
