Cruxoruza decorata Swinhoe comb. n.
Cerynea decorata Swinhoe, 1903, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (7), 11: 505.
Diagnosis
The coloration is similar to that of Z. fissifascia, but the white markings are more extensive and complex basally on the forewing and also in the apical zone, the posterior border of both uniting with the subcostal line centrally to form a roughly even arc. There are fine white submarginals on both wings, that of the hindwing with a central angle that extends at its apex to the margin.
Geographical range
Thailand, Taiwan, Bhutan, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow colln), Borneo.
Habitat preference
Ten specimens have been taken in recent surveys, one from the Ulu Dusun locality of fissifascia and two from lowland dipterocarp forest at 300m in the Ulu Temburong of Brunei. The remaining seven were recorded in canopy samples from primary forest at 170m near the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah (S.J. Willott, unpublished data). Also Chey (1994) recorded eight from various softwood plantations near Brumas in the lowlands of Sabah.
