Alcis pammicra Prout
Cleora pammicra Prout, 1925, Novit. zool. 32: 57.
Diagnosis
This is a very small grey species that could be confused with Calichodes subrugata Warren . The wings are more uniform grey, the fasciae straighter, less sinuous.
Geographical Range
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
A single male has been taken in lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu.
Taxonomic Note
Sato (2005a) reviewed the distinction of A. pammicra and A. eupithecioides. The latter is slightly larger, yellower, and with more prominent dark discal spots and forewing marginal patches. The male genitalia have the uncus apex more blunt. The ampullate processes at the centre of the valve are strongly upcurved, rather than triangular and directed at the ventral margin. Bornean material listed is a male from Kundasang on the slopes of G. Kinabalu.
