Agathia succedanea Warren; Holloway, 1976: 60.
Diagnosis
This is the largest Bornean species of this facies type, showing sexual dimorphism with the female brown banding being more rufous and irregular than that of the male. It is distinguished particularly by extensive green on the thorax and dorsal part of the abdomen and by the subtornal, peninsula-like or rounded exterior to the green area of the hindwing; in the male this has a diffuse margin unconstrained by a paler lining.
Geographical Range
Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat Preference
Only known from G. Kinabalu, the species occurs infrequently between 1000m and 1930m. It appears to be the only strictly montane Agathia in Borneo.
