Agathia eromenoides Holloway sp. n.

Diagnosis

♂♂ 17-18mm, ?♀ 17mm.

This species has the rather prominent pale bar to the hindwing tail and the marked sexual dimorphism of A. eromena Prout (Sulawesi, Philippines, ?Peninsular Malaysia (Holloway, 1982)) and allies but differs in the more rufous tone to the fasciation, the more posteriorly extended green subapical zone on the forewing, and the slightly sinuous (rather than straight, dentate) distal margin to the basal green of the hindwing.

The tentatively associated female has strong pale rufous tinge to the rather broad brown zones, and the fine pale zone bisecting these is more conspicuous.

The male genitalia are distinguished from those of eromena, illustrated by Holloway & Sommerer (1984), by the basal and central spurs to the valve costa and the normal (cf. produced) saccular angle.
